This journal serves as a platform for disseminating research and studies related to training and development, administration and management, religious affairs, education, and teaching, as well as the use of information and communication technology in education and training. It welcomes research-based papers, literature reviews, and scholarly articles that address current and relevant issues within these domains.
Since its initial print publication in 2018, WAWASAN has continued to grow in reach and reputation. What sets us apart is our commitment to providing a platform for transformative ideas, empirical research, and critical reflections relevant to the development of education and public service in Indonesia, particularly within the framework of religious training institutions. Starting in 2020, the journal has also been published in an electronic format, with issues released biannually in June and December. All submitted articles undergo a rigorous peer-review process by at least two reviewers with expertise in the respective fields. The journal adopts the APA Style for citations and references. Each published article is assigned a unique DOI and is indexed in Dimension, Google Scholar, and Moraref. The journal grants open access to readers, allowing them to read, download, distribute, print, cite, and use the content for lawful academic and professional purposes.
In this current edition, we are pleased to present a collection of scholarly articles that reflect transformative ideas, empirical research, and critical reflections relevant to the development of education and public service in Indonesia, particularly within the framework of religious training institutions.
This issue showcases a rich tapestry of themes, each offering unique insights and perspectives. From the integration of digital tools in educational practice to character and leadership development and from cultural and religious literacy to the role of community-based initiatives, the diversity of topics covered is sure to engage and interest our readers. For instance, one article explores the use of Trello in facilitating transformative learning, offering insights into how digital applications can shape students’ mindsets and collaborative learning behaviors. Another paper discusses the implementation of the 24 Leadership Profiles Curriculum in Islamic elementary schools, contributing to the discourse on leadership education and teacher development.
Religious moderation and inclusive education also emerge as significant topics. A study on the use of a literacy-based model with cross-cultural religious values (LKLB) evaluated through the Kirkpatrick framework offers an in-depth look into how religious literacy can be fostered in teacher training workshops. Meanwhile, an ethnographic study on pesantren in Kalimantan Barat provides historical and cultural perspectives on how traditional Islamic institutions adapt to modern educational demands.
Furthermore, other contributions explore the role of Berakhlak—the core values of the Indonesian civil service—in shaping public service ethics and examine how community-based initiatives contribute to the religious character formation of youth in urban areas such as Bekasi.
The thematic breadth of this issue reaffirms our unwavering commitment to advancing scholarly inquiry that is both locally grounded and globally informed. We hope that the knowledge and perspectives offered in these articles will inspire educators, policymakers, trainers, and researchers to engage in deeper reflection and collaborative innovation. By fostering a culture of scholarly inquiry, we aim to inspire and motivate our readers to contribute to the ongoing improvement of education and public service in Indonesia.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all authors, peer reviewers, and the editorial team for their invaluable contributions. This edition serves not only as an academic resource but also as a catalyst for ongoing improvement in education and public service in Indonesia. We encourage our readers to share their thoughts and feedback on the published articles, as we believe that open discussion and collaboration are crucial for advancing our fields.
